Hyper Cell is the highest evolution of the original Bridgestone Cell Fender, which was first introduced in 1969. Hyper Cell Fender combines new materials and new manufacturing processes into a unique, new design to nearly double the energy absorption of a Super Cell Fender of the same size.

A smaller Hyper Cell Fender will outperform a larger Super Cell Fender. Furthermore as the degree of angular loading increases, the superiority of the Hyper Cell Fender increases. This phenomenon is particularly important when berthing newer container vessels. The hull flare of these vessels often produces a high degree of angular loading.

Bridgestone has used the most advanced analytical technology available to design the Hyper Cell Fender. The result is a fender that can achieve extremely high performance with minimum strain levels in the fender body. The Hyper Cell Fender offers a long service life, having been tested through 10,000 cycles at full rated deflection without failure.

TYPICAL HYPER CELL FENDER SYSTEM

      Function:

a) Anchor Bolt - Attaches fender to wharf
b) Tension Chain - Restrains fender body under low impact condition
c) Shear Chain - Restrains shear deflection of fender
d) Weight Chain -Supports frontal frame 
e) Frontal Frame - Protects hull of vessel by reducing contact pressure
f) Frontal Pad - Reduces friction coefficient to protect  ship's hull
g) "U" Anchor - Attaches chain to wharf
